About Us

RedBranch is an Irish registered charity with a mission to empower people to make healthy lifestyle choices. We fight obesity and prevent serious illnesses by helping people to have a healthy diet and to be physically active. Our Vision is a world where people choose a healthy lifestyle, and these choices are fully supported by society.

We focus on creating positive behavioural change – educating and inspiring people to make healthier lifestyle choices, and providing people with the tools to manage lifestyle change. In addition, RedBranch initiatives change the environment so that healthier choices are easier to access.

History of RedBranch

RedBranch was registered as a charity in 2006. In 2007 the work of the organisation was recognised by Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, with a Level 2 Award. RedBranch founder David Egan was awarded an Ashoka Fellowship in 2009 – Ashoka is the global association of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs.

Behavioural Change in Parents

RedBranch Parents for Health is a new initiative that will revolutionise health promotion. The initiative inspires and facilitates positive behavioural change, placing parents at the centre of the change process.

Healthy Schools Consultancy Service

The RedBranch Schools Consultancy Service helps schools to optimise policies, environment and culture to ensure that healthy lifestyle is promoted in the school setting. The service involves assessment, goal setting and assistance with implementing changes. The implementation phase gives schools access to a range of RedBranch initiatives that foster positive behavioural change, such as the RedBranch school fruit micro-business.

Healthy School Food

RedBranch work extensively to promote healthy food in schools. We provide a consultancy service to food businesses that allows them to successfully promote healthy school food. In the future, this will take the form of a RedBranch School Food quality assurance scheme.
